Up here in Canada, cottaging is a bit of an institution. Our summers are incredibly glorious, but their gloriousness is equally matched with brevity. In other words: we have to capitalize as much, and as often, as physically possible. Justin and I sneak up to our cottage as much as we can each year, and while it admittedly looks absolutely nothing like this beauty, I love it to its core all the same. That said, it’s safe to say that these guys have figured out how to cottage the “right” way. From the soaring ceilings, to the views that are unmatched, to the casual elegant furnishings, there is literally no detail left unthought of, and I’d happily call it my own.

Amazing retreats! Makes you want to take a drive to cottage country! Loved this post.
Couldn’t agree more!
Wow. Its pretty, but that would never work with our cottage life – kids, dogs, sand, mud, wet towels, in the summer. We’re on a hill, so we have snow, boots, wet coats and such in the winter. All that white would give me nightmares!
See, and I’m of the mindset that I’d rather see the dirt so that I can clean it up! I may be a germaphobe though ;)
Wow. Just. Wow.

Definitely done right, secluded and relaxed. Great place to escape the busy city!
Agreed ;)
I absolutely love the metal fridge doors and the surrounding (brown) wood frame & cabinets, as well as how those elements fit in with the rest of the kitchen. Loving the contrast!
AGREED! Such lovely details
