Though one of the best parts of my job as an interior designer is trying something new, pushing myself out of my comfort zone every now and again, my heart longs for classical designs. I much prefer to stick with what’s tried, tested, and true – especially when it comes to those key items. My rule of thumb when designing for the long haul is to source a good foundation using primarily timeless pieces, and layer in trendier, more current items, with accessories and fabrics (which can easily be switched out). With that in mind, I thought it might be helpful to round up a handful of lounge chairs that I know for certainty will feel timeless for years to come. Here are 12 lounge chairs that will never go out of style.

These are wonderful. I would include the club chair, especially with rounded arms and back and in leather, and the LC2 by Le Corbusier, which looks too square to be comfortable but actually is wonderful.
Totally agree!
I always gravitate toward classic elements for big pieces (e.g., furniture) as well. I also really love that rocker in the larger picture above; do you have a link to that one available? I checked the source and couldn’t find it and thought I’d ask :)
These are beautiful. Too bad One King’s Lane doesn’t ship to Canada!
There are companies that you can use to have their products shipped to you. There’s always a way around these things ;) But I agree – they need to make it easier for us northern folk!
Ohh good to know! : )
My favorite is the rocking chair though….any hints?
I’ve been on the hunt myself. I will definitely let you know when I find it!
It’s a Danish rocking chair: http://www.artdreamerdesigns.com/chair/danish-rocking-chair.html
Thank you Marjo!!
