Have you ever had Boomchickapop popcorn? Because I discovered it a few months ago and I’ve been unstoppable ever since. It’s become somewhat of my kryptonite, andin moments of desperation when I don’t have a bag on hand I’ve had to resort to other measures. Most recently: this homemade kettle corn. With just a little more effort than purchasing it pre-made, it tastes just like the real deal – a little sweet, a little salty, and the perfect accompaniment to a cozy evening in.

Serves 4
Sweet and salty popcorn you can make in the comfort of your own home
In a large pot with a lid, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Place a single kernel in the bottom. Once that kernel pops, stir in the sugar and the rest of the kernels.
Add the lid, but keeping a small gap open so that the steam can escape. Shake the pot constantly over the heat so the sugar doesn't burn.
Once poping sounds begin to slow, remove from heat, pour into large bowl and toss with sea salt (to your preference).
