I tend to be nostalgic by nature, but lately have found myself increasingly so. As I’ve been reflecting on recent events – most notably, bidding farewell to our family cottage – thoughts of the lilac tree on our property flood my mind. Each spring, its blooms would fill the air with the sweetest fragrance, reminiscent of cherished moments spent with family. I always loved plucking a few blooms to bring home at the end of a long weekend well spent, and it’s something I will forever miss going forward.
Amidst the bittersweet nostalgia, however, I’ve been finding a sense of anticipation for fresh beginnings. What adventures await our family next? The sense of a fresh start feels particularly fitting for this time of year. So, let’s embrace change while holding onto treasured memories, and adorn our screens with this beautiful lilac wallpaper, hand-painted with care by my wildly talented friend, Sarah Konyer.

The lilacs are beautiful! I always have loved the scent of lilacs, especially if carried on a warm summer breeze. But, they are so short lived, that when they’re done blooming, it’s just an “unremarkable” green bush. Lilacs always conjure up memories of when I was a little girl and sweet memories of my mom ( who has long since passed away). Are any of your lilac prints for an iPad?
