Although this winter has been a mild one by anyone’s standards, winters in Canada are usually no joke. They’re cold, they’re grey, and they tend to drag on forever. In my experience, the only way to get through the arduous season is to embrace it wholeheartedly. I often joke that I tend to hibernate during the winter months, but it’s 100% true. When I’m not playing in the snow up at our cottage, I’m snuggled in front of the fire, catching up on Netflix or nose deep in a good book, with a mug of hot chocolate at arms length away. I’ve recently begun stocking our fridge with these homemade hot chocolate spoons and they’ve become the perfect solution to the chill in the air. Simply warm a mug of milk, grab a hot chocolate spoon, stir and enjoy.

Serves 6
These chocolate covered spoons make the perfect gift (however I won't judge if you keep them all for yourself!)
Toppings of your choice (I used pink peppercorns, sweetened coconut and edible lavender but you could also drizzle white chocolate, edible flowers, salted caramel... Feel free to get creative!)
Instructions
Using a double boiler, melt your hot chocolate
Dip your spoons and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Place in fridge for 2-3 minutes until slightly firm, sprinkle on your toppings of choice, and place in fridge until completely solid.
To use, simply warm up a mug of milk, grab a spoon, stir and enjoy!
