Designing a Timeless Kitchen: The Vibe

If you’re new here & you’re curious about our renovation, start here.

If you can’t tell by now, it’s absolutely killing me that I haven’t been able to shoot and share our kitchen yet. Everything is completely done with the exception of two wall sconces that have been backordered since November. I keep being told they’re about to arrive *any* day now, but I’ve had to reschedule the kitchen photoshoot three times now, which is a bummer. I do believe, however, that they will be well worth the wait. The anticipation will make everything even sweeter, I’m sure. In the meantime, let’s take a little look at the kitchen vibe that this bad boy is emitting.

SHOP THE POST:

As always, attention to detail was paramount when it came to designing our timeless kitchen renovation. This is always the case when I’m tackling an interior project, but it felt especially important in our 1898 Victorian home. I really wanted to re-infuse detail and character, which had been largely stripped from the space over the years. Mixing cabinet hardware, layering lighting, adding wall panelling, incorporating artwork, and bringing in well thought out accessories that marry both form and function reigned queen. And now that I’ve been living with the space, and using it daily for some time now, I can tell you that it has completely changed everything (everything!)

If you’re looking into designing a timeless kitchen for yourself, here are a few of the finishing details and things I’m absolutely loving, that I’ve included in our own kitchen renovation.
