How to Easily Support a Small Business this Season

As we enter another lockdown here in Toronto, I can’t help but worry about all of my beloved small businesses who are suffering so deeply… And while, as a small business owner myself, I often work with larger companies as I rely on sponsorships and affiliate commissions to keep this blog running, shopping small has always and will always be a huge passion of mine. As we head into the holiday season, I wanted to compile a list of some of my personal favourite small businesses in hopes that we could all show them some love now and into the future.

There is no shortage of incredibly beautiful shoppes to be found on this page. From all things home and decor, to fashion and beauty, to some of my favourite kid and baby brands, and beyond, I feel confident you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for somewhere in here. And if you have a small business of your own, or know of one you love, please leave a link in the comments below so we can check them out.

I would also love it if you could pin, bookmark, or share this list with your nearest and dearest so we can make an impact no matter how big or small. My hope is that this particular post can be a permanent resource that we can refer back to time and again. Happy shopping!

While I have long been an admirer of your website and your impeccable taste . . . today I found that your kindness brought me to tears. Rarely do I post comments . . . but, you are to be applauded.

Canadian, handmade, vegan-leather, upycled eco handbags and accessories, including masks. The fabrics are rescued from upholstery companies and designer workrooms that would otherwise end up in landfills.

My friend Laura started this business with a female partner after surviving breast cancer, and was determined to ‘give back’ in some way. They own and operate their successful, small business from Bradford, Ontario. Lauras’ young son came up with the name, ‘Echoes In the Attic.’

Just took the plunge into starting a business with a close friend. We are hoping to have our website go live this Wednesday but have already been working with clients on the brand identity side of the business. Would love to have anyone check us out starting this weekend!
