With a large extended family, Christmases around here have always and forever been nutty. We typically host dinner at my mom’s on Christmas eve, head to my dad’s as soon as we wake up, hop on over to my grandma’s for a fabulous feast, and then to my aunt’s for dessert. In essence, we make sure to see all 100 (give or take) of our immediate family members within 24 hours. It’s madness in every sense of the word, and although I wouldn’t actually have it any other way, sometimes I do wonder what it would be like to sneak away for a quiet country Christmas, wrapped from head to toe in wool blankets, naturally. And this place as the backdrop? Well, I definitely think it would do the trick.
