scenes from my weekend.

The past few days have been such a whirlwind, I’m still trying to come down from the madness! On Friday night I had the opportunity to attend my roommates Hanukkah dinner. Unfortunately we did not have brisket (something I had been looking forward to since last Hanukkah, and you follow me on Twitter, you’re probably sick of the word!), but we DID have cookie cake, and that makes up for any lack of slow cooked meat (the meal that was prepared was still delicious, but it won’t stop me from complaining about brisket ;). We played the dreidle game, I won (perhaps I was born into the wrong religion since I’m practically undefeated at this game), and we opened gifts. I love being able to experience and appreciate each and every holiday.

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to my moms for our annual Christmas cookie baking day. This year, we attempted to tackle ten different recipes. After 12 hours of baking, multiple tea breaks, Christmas music on repeat, and ingesting far too much raw cookie dough, we did it. To celebrate a job well done, we drank hot chocolate (laden with Baileys and Malibu rum) and “watched” Christmas movies (aka fell asleep during the opening credits).

I’m so pleased that the only thing I booked for Sunday was dim sum with my dad. After brunch, I came home and napped for five hours (although I’ve been informed that at this point it’s probably considered a sleep. Minor details). I finished off the evening with mindless television, a big bowl of soup for dinner and catching up on work for the week (aka Danielle’s bedroom which will be ready oh so soon!). Have a wonderful week lovies!
