When my friend and talented colleague Jess and I first started brainstorming some recipe ideas for the spring and summer season, it was in the thick of a late-winter snow storm and the one thing that I was craving most was sunshine in a glass. Funnily enough, grapefruit was never really my jam, but something has shifted in the last few months and now I can’t get enough of the stuff (see: grapefruit smoothie bowls *insert drool emoji*). And when paired with basil? Well it really just doesn’t get much better. We concocted a recipe for a grapefruit basil cocktail and the results taste so much like summer you can practically feel the sunshine on your face with each sip.
