On Change, New Chapters & What’s Next

sweater (note: I haven’t taken it off since it arrived) | jeans (they’re so good)

Hi! My gosh it’s been a minute. We had a jam packed summer so I took a bit of an accidental break to focus and simply be. And then I really enjoyed that break. Much more so than I had anticipated… It made me realize that it may be time to make some changes around here, which has felt a little scary and very exciting.

Even though things have evolved exponentially over the years, I have always loved blogging – having a creative space that’s entirely my own has been the greatest gift. But the reality is that it’s been 15 years (maybe more?) of doing this consistently (5 days a week for a GOOD chunk of that time!) and lately I’m finding myself pulled in new directions. There is a new chapter unfolding, however I feel very much as if I’m in the death/rebirth phase of it all right now.

There are so many good things to come. My interior design projects have been ramping up, complete with one of my most exciting projects to date. We’re talking about moving soon (a new personal project!) My daughter is getting older, and I want to spend as MUCH time as I can with her  (I know all too well that these years are fleeting). My priorities have simply shifted. And taking this time to step back, re-evaluate, and take stock has given me a lot of clarity.

I never really planned this, it kind of just happened, and to be honest I don’t yet know what this all means for this space going forward.

I do know that I don’t want to be done with everything completely. I still feel like I have things to say and thoughts to share and beauty to spread! However, going forward I want to approach things in a more authentic and personal way. More of my own work, more of my own thoughts and musings, more popping in simply when I feel called to, instead of adhering to an arbitrary schedule I set for myself.

There’s a chance I’ll pop in around here weekly, I may disappear entirely for months on end until something juicy feels worth sharing, I’m not entirely sure yet. But whether you’re new or have been here for a while, know that I’m so grateful for all your love and support. And I didn’t feel right disappearing without sharing where my head has been lately.

I have adored the relationships I’ve formed with so many of you and I would really love to keep in touch. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to subscribe to my newsletter. You’ll receive an email only occasionally – when a new post does go up. Only the *really* good stuff.

I’ve also found myself more active on Instagram and have really enjoyed sharing the more candid, behind the scenes, in-process type stuff. Please find me over there if you feel so inclined! I save relevant “highlights” for each project, so you can always catch up and see how things are unfolding in real time.

Additionally, I’ve been more intentional with linking things I get asked about, purchases, and pieces I’ve been loving on LTK. I don’t often share when I post (I’m not a fan of contributing to all the link noise out there so I try to keep it minimal) But if you’d like to be in the know you can always follow along (and subscribe to be notified – I’m not so great at that part ha!)

If you’re ever on the hunt for any goodies for your home, please check The Shop. I freshened it all up a while ago and have been saving things over there as I’ve been stumbling across them (and will continue to do so!) Most recently, I’ve been on the hunt for vintage rugs and artwork for a few projects. I have been saving all of the beautiful things I’ve found that I’ve loved but don’t currently have a home for. I often refer to it myself when sourcing something new.

I plan to be more intentional about updating it seasonally (always check the “seasonal” drop down menu for the latest!) It’s a great resource for many things.

Lastly, please never forget that you can always email me. I’ve received the loveliest notes from many of you over the years, and they never fail to make my day. I love hearing from you and though it feels like it’s time to make some changes,  I will miss being here as frequently as I have been.

Until next time,

xx, Jacquelyn
