You may have heard of Decors Veronneau as I’ve worked with them a number of times in the past (most recently on our own Christmas decor last year). They’re purveyors of the most beautiful artificial plants (and this time of year, wreaths and garlands and holiday decor, too.) So when they asked if I’d be interested in partnering with them again this season I leapt at the opportunity. I love them always but especially when it comes to the holidays (their garlands in particular are *chefs kiss* good).
This year, I thought it’d be fun to treat my mom to a mini winter wonderland of her own. She was recently away for a few days (helping my brother and SIL with their brand new baby girl – squee). So I took the opportunity to go to town decking out her kitchen with beautiful Christmas decorations, done simply and elegantly.
I opted for an oversized wreath to act as the focal point above the range – really stealing the show in the best way. And instead of keeping it bare (which is something I equally love to do), one of my Christmas decorating tips is to tuck in a few magnolia flowers and leaves. I find it brings in a little something feminine and unexpected.
I’m finding myself drawn to asymmetrical garlands this year and love the idea of playing that up. To balance out the visual weight, I added a small magnolia arrangement and a cute Santa figurine on the opposite side. (The santa was specifically chosen for my daughter – I know she’s going to love him). I can’t wait to get our stockings up on that mantle as we get closer to.
A beautiful wintry arrangement on the island, a ribbed votive tea-light holder, a modern gold reindeer, and a small cedar wrapped in burlap helped bring the rest together.
This mayyy have been selfishly motivated as we will be spending a good chunk of our own holiday in this very space. But I come by my love for Christmas honestly ,and I have no doubt that my mom will be as thrilled as I am with the results.
(Edited to add: she literally just emailed me a list of holiday plans as well as texted me to see when we can arrange for our annual Christmas cookie decorating party – we’re both pumped)
Decorating someone else’s space got me thinking about how I tend to approach Christmas decor, and thought it might be helpful to share some of the Christmas decorating tips that I tend to subscribe by.

Thank you to Decors Veronneau for partnering with me on this post.
And thank YOU for supporting my partners – it means the world.
