Reminiscent of a number of terrible tops and awkward skirts I proudly wore in the 90’s, I’ll be the first to admit that crushed velvet has never really been on my radar when it comes to interior design. But lately, I’ve been noticing this funky fabric popping up more and more frequently in shelter magazines and design blogs far and wide. Whether it takes centre stage in the form of a tufted sofa, or is used as an accent in a simple club chair, I have to admit it’s growing on me in a big way. If used correctly, this velvety fabric can add an instant hit of unexpected luxe that I kind of totally love.
