Though I don’t typically post this many updates as we renovate and decorate our home (you may have noticed that I tend to just post the plans and then the pretty), I’m really enjoying filling you all in on the process along the way. Apparently this whole One Room Challenge thing is onto something! Who knew :)
We’re actually in really good shape as far as our living room is concerned. Much better shape than I was anticipating at this point, to be completely honest. All of our furniture, art, and accessories have been ordered and are on their way. Our walls have been patched, sanded and, painted the most beautiful shade of soft grey (creamy walls, begone!). Our Metrie crown moulding has gone up. Our yellowed light switches and wall outlets have been switched out for those of the crisp, white, variety. And our ceiling medallion has been put in place. It’s actually a really inexpensive plastic version we bought at Lowes (until we can save up for a real plaster version), and I’m shocked at how great it looks now that it’s installed. Truth be told, it may just stay forever and ever, and that’s perfectly fine by me.
Here’s a quick peek at where we’re at currently.
Four weeks down, two to go! Stay tuned next wednesday for one more update before the final reveal.
And, as always, make sure to take a peek at the rest of the challengers, if you have the chance:

I love the progress photos, so thanks for sharing them! The chandy is indeed incredible. Looking forward to seeing how the room evolves over the next two weeks.
We’re so close! We’ve made a ton of progress this week. I can’t wait to share next week.
I’m so excited to follow along! You are so talented and I’m sure you will make this space absolutely perfect. Also, your dog is adorable & your home is super charming! xx
Thank you for the kind words Caitlin <3
First, Sage is ADORABLE!!! Second, love the paint colour, rug and gorgeous chandelier!
haha thanks Christine! She likes to be the centre of attention at all times, that’s for sure
The chandelier looks amazing! It really adds a glamorous flair to your space’s home decor. I also love that it is not too “in your face.”
Thanks Charlotte! That’s exactly how I feel. It’s glamorous and elegant, but not overly loud or fussy. We’re both IN LOVE (now that the glass bulbs have all been hung, that is)
that last shot is the CUTEST! the light is gorgeous and worth the painstaking hanging crystal task! and sage is the sweetest helper!
haha she insists on being a part of everything. We installed our media cabinet the other day and her trying to lay on top of it as we were putting it together just added a whole new layer of fun *side eye*
The light is stunning and I love the shadows it casts on the walls. The Ammonite paint looks gorgeous in your space!
Thanks Jen! I’m beyond thrilled with the paint choice. That said, I feel like you can’t go wrong with ANY of Farrow & Ball’s colours – they’re all perfection

that light fixture is stunning. I cannot wait to see the finished room!
I am also participating in the ORC and making over my walk in closet. Check it out if you are interested: http://www.charlestoncrafted.com/2017/04/26/orc-build-custom-wooden-closet-system/
Oh, amazing! I will check it out for sure. A walk in closet makeover is a great idea
Looking good so far! Ha, at least all the bulbs are in place and you shouldn’t have to do that again :)
haha YES! There’s always a silver lining
Hi! That chandelier looks beautiful! I’ve never really considered a chandelier for a living room before! Are your ceilings regular 8 ft? Are you concerned about head space clearance?
Hey Kel! We actually have 9′ ceilings, but either way the chandlier would work as we have a coffee table below it (so no worries on anybody hitting their head)
Love the rug, will you please tell where did you found it?
It’s from Elte!
