Given my choice of occupation, it’s no secret that I take interior design very seriously. That being said, I fully appreciate the fact that it is an incredibly superfluous career. And though I could tout for hours about the benefits of a well designed space, both for one’s emotional and physical state, I also fully acknowledge the fact that it has elements of frivolity. Though I can get wrapped up on all of the shoulds and shouldn’ts, when it comes down to it, it really shouldn’t take itself too seriously. Take for example this incredible Nashville home. While it’s beautifully designed, it doesn’t necessarily follow the classic principles of design – and that’s more than okay! It has character, and whimsy. It feels lived in and loved. Not to mention a wicked collection of art. And for that, I’m all in!
