Peppered Rose Cocktail

I’m thrilled to introduce my newest monthly food contributor, Lauren Kelp, to the Lark & Linen team. I’ve long been a fan of her work, her infectious attitude, and her mantra “thoughtful living, without the pressure of being perfect”. I had a good feeling about Lauren from the start, but she’s already blown me away. Enjoy!

peppered rose cocktailWhat’s perfectly pink, has a spicy kick, and is best enjoyed with friends? (Hopefully not your latest Bumble date.) It’s The Peppered Rose, of course! Easy to make & even better to enjoy, this little cocktail will make you feel like a seasoned mixologist with about half the work. Pick up some roses, your favorite vodka, a jar of rose simple syrup & you are basically done! Enjoy & cheers, Lauren Kelp

Ingredients
  1. ½ ounce of rose simple syrup (we used Royal Rose)
  2. 2 ounces vodka
  3. 2 ounces grapefruit juice
  4. 4 ounces tonic water
  5. Pepper grinder
  6. Fresh rose petals, for garnish
Instructions
  1. Grab a handful of ice & pour your vodka, grapefruit juice, tonic water, & a few twists of your pepper grinder into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Stir gently until well mixed and strain into an ice filled glass.
  3. Garnish with a rose petal & an extra twist of pepper (for an extra little kick) and enjoy!
