It has always been a dream of mine to purchase a historical home in need of some love, and painstakingly restore it back to it’s original beauty. So imagine the heart-eyes that ensued when I first laid eyes on this historical beaut. Built in 1804, textile designer Chanee Vijay, and her husband, did just that when they purchased this home back in 2012 with one mission: renovating it from the ground up.Curved wooden staircases, three (of six!) marble fireplaces, and original mouldings were left in tact, while modern elements were carefully and thoughtfully infused throughout. It’s 4,000 square feet of goodness that you simply mustn’t miss.

Absolutely love the subway-like tiles in the shower. Where are they from?
Yes please tell us the tile you used. Thank you!
Can u tell me where u got the door pulls?
Beautiful, but why so white? I grew up in a pre-revolutionary home. My parents painstakingly restored and it had so much more color. They traveled to Williamsburg and other areas to see what historical homes looked like. Your home is gorgeous great job.
Oh, I love that! To each their own, for sure. That’s the beauty of design!
